Dr. Steve Burgess

Steve grew up in Albuquerque and quickly fell in love with the Four Corners while working summers in Farmington. After graduating from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy class of 1978, he and his wife, Cathy, quickly moved to Farmington and worked at Furr’s grocery store.   After realizing he wanted more from his profession, Steve bought The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy on 20th street.   His motto of “serving his community and patients at the highest standard” has never been forgotten in his 30 plus years in business. He knows his patients on a first name basis and will always go out of his way to make sure their health and safety is a priority. Steve recently received the lifetime achievement award in the state of New Mexico called the Bowl of Hygieia. The Bowl of Hygeia Award recognizes pharmacists who have provided outstanding community service, as nominated by their pharmaceutical association. Steve also recently served as the lead pharmacist during Mission of Mercy.

One patient describes Steve as “your favorite neighborhood pharmacist!”
